The lastest TVCFL round up made Wednesdays Reading Post!
The unedited version is below:
Tilehurst Albion continued to set the pace in the early stages of
the season with a 9-0 victory over Vineyard FC. Danny Lawrence
produced an outstanding performance, hitting 4 past the leagues new
boys. Toby Briggs also scored a hat-trick with Teddy Thomas and
Josh Baines sharing a goal apiece. Kerith Community Church
kicked off their season in blistering form, sweeping Wycliffe
Wanderers aside 8-3. Jonathan Ellis scored a fine hat trick with
Lee Berry and Ben Findlay each scoring a brace and Barry Agar
adding to the tally. Wanderers replied with two goals from Neil
Healy and one from Mark Pattle. A dramatic finale with three late
goals saw Brookside Saint Laurence FC beat Greyfriars 5-2.
Greyfriars took an early lead through a Dan Thompson goal, but
Steve Magness struck before half-time and Ben Sheppard put away
two long range strikes to give the hosts a 3-1 lead early in the second
half. A late strike from Alex Barltrop gave the visitors hope in the
final minutes but Brookside Saint Lawrence responded with two late
goals of their own through James Hall and Courtney Isaacs. Another
fine performance from Jamie Carstairs and a hat-trick from Gary
Woodward secured another victory for West Reading CFC in a 3-1
defeat of Real World Corinthians, with Richard Best supplying the
Corinthians consolation goal.
