Reading Post: "Tilehurst Hit Ten!" - with unedited report

Tilehurst Albion made it four league wins out of four with an emphatic 10 - 0 victory over Greyfriars FC.  From start to finish the league's top scorers' passing and movement was a joy to watch and, but for some great saves by stand in Greyfriars keeper James Hern, the margin of victory might have been greater. Leading marksman Josh Baines led the way with a hat-trick, while Toby Briggs and Charlie Baines added doubles.  The scoring was rounded off by Ali Clewer, Richard Delecia and a Bradley Lilley penalty.  Warfield kept Albion off top spot in the table with seven strikes of their own.  Reading Saints had no answer to the champions' strong performance and remain pointless.  Kerith Community Church kept up the pressure on the leaders with another victory, this time 4 - 0 at West Reading CFC.  Man-of-the-match Barry Agar led the way with a fine hat-trick, the other coming from the boot of Ben Findlay.  Vineyard FC continue to find the going tough, this week succumbing 9 - 1 to great all-round play from Bethel United.  Sharing out the goals, a Nerko treble was added to by strikes from Tom Basketfield, Damien Marshall, Lewis Atherley, Sabri Ali, Dominic Atherley-Smith and Gregory Lyford.  Vineyard's sole consolation, the only one from any of the bottom six teams, came courtesy of Sam Pearson.    Brookside Saint Laurence hit five goals for the second game running, their opponents Real World Corinthians unable to register a reply. If it was goals you wanted this weekend, the Thames Valley Churches Football League certainly delivered the goods; 36 goals in only 5 matches.
